What are the most important spiritual truths you have learned so far in your life? [part 10]: Incorrigibly Cheerful

In part ten of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far—being incorrigibly cheerful. The joy that comes from heaven doesn’t come from a certain personality or life’s circumstance—it comes from God. And Eric has learned that we can, by the grace of God, rejoice in all things. We can leap for joy when we are falsely accused. And we can prove incorrigibly cheerful through every day of our lives. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 commands us to “Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” In the darkest moments of life we can still have a joy and cheer in our soul. Discover how in this episode.

What are the most important spiritual truths you have learned so far in your life? [part 9]: Victory Over Sin

In part nine of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far—victory over sin is past tense. Granted, while we may continue to face temptation and trials in our spiritual lives, the Biblical truth is that the victory that Christ won has already been accomplished! We often think that victory is for sometime in the future—maybe when we pray enough or when Jesus returns. But victory is not something we need to wait around for. The Bible says that not only is victory possible but Jesus accomplished it in the past on the Cross. How do we walk in victory and triumph now? Paul says in Romans 6 that we are to reckon—an accounting term that means you need to “take it to your account”—an active engagement of the soul that takes the legal rights and truths and apply it to our lives. We must realize that the sin which once reigned in our lives no longer has any legal right to our lives. We must exert the truth that we are free and no longer under the dominion and power of sin. Just like flying in an airplane trumps the law of gravity, there is a higher law (the Law of Spirit and Life) that enables us to live victoriously.

What are the most important spiritual truths you have learned so far in your life? [part 8]: God Cannot Lie

In part eight of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far—God cannot lie. If someone asked you if God can lie, how would you answer? Your answer to that question will determine whether or not you can move forward in your spiritual life. For if we think God can lie, then there is no truth we can build our lives upon—yet if God cannot lie, then He becomes a Rock of strength in our lives. Truth is that which is without lie, falseness, or exaggeration. And the Bible declares that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Bible says it over and over: God cannot lie. In this week’s episode Eric tackles this important truth of “God cannot lie” and adds to it a second part declaring that if God cannot lie and the Bible is His Word, then the Bible also cannot lie. This twofold truth is what a Christian builds their life upon and creates a confidence in God’s Word and trust in what He says is true.

What are the most important spiritual truths you have learned so far in your life? [part 7]

In part seven of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far—understanding that God doesn’t change and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” There are two key elements in this passage: 1) He is – meaning God is always the same, He doesn’t alter or change, there is no shadow of turning within Him 2) He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him When you understand these two key truths, you will discover that your life can be built upon Rock. When we understand that God doesn’t change, and neither does His Word, then we can rest firmly upon His character and nature—giving solid footing in our spiritual lives. In this episode, Eric talks about this verse and how important it is in the Christian life to live with the confidence that God never changes.

What are the most important spiritual truths you have learned so far in your life? [part 6]

In part six of this series on the Ask Eric Podcast, Eric Ludy discusses one of the most important spiritual truths he has learned thus far—exerting aggressive belief and not being passive of soul. Sadly, too many Christians come to Jesus and then turn passive in their spiritual lives—but Christianity is not passive. We must exert aggressive belief in God’s promises and exercise what God has given us: grace to overcome. We are engaged in a battle and must position ourselves to actually do the fighting (through the empowering grace of the Holy Spirit in our lives) rather than sit passively on the side. Eric discusses the importance of exercise and engagement in our spiritual lives and why we mustn’t merely esteem what God has given us, but actually use it.
