In Christ

If you listen to my sermons online you will hear me ask my audience often a very specific question. And my audience knows precisely what I am asking and why I ask it so often...

In my job, I get the privilege of asking forgiveness a lot. And here is another one of those golden opportunities...

The Victory of Faith

Many of us view faith sort of like our Ford pickup’s license plates. Every year it is necessary to invest a little into our vehicle’s plates in order to keep that baby on the road. We pay the renewal fee, stick the fresh stickers over the old ones, wipe the work off our hands in satisfaction, and call it good...

The Action of Faith

When I preach I tend to be a “shouter.” I never intended to be a loud-mouth, let alone a loud-mouth preacher. It just sort of happened. It happened when I yielded my life, my body, my reputation to Jesus Christ and said, “You can do with me whatever You see fit!”...

Latest Video Release: The Anatomy of Faith

This three-part video series is just what I was needing today! I sat in the Windsor Starbucks with my headphones on this afternoon and got teary-eyed, slammed my fist on the table with fresh resolve, and muttered afresh my dogged faith in my God’s faithfulness! I am so taken with Steve Rosen’s musical backdrop to these three videos on the subject of faith. And, this first one is one of my all-time favorite background scores...

Eric Ludy Interviews Shirley Temple (a.k.a. Avy Ludy)

Avy has always been Mommy’s and Daddy’s “Shirley Temple.” From the get-go, Avy has possessed a unique social charm, a deep childlike zest for life, a super-rare and profound compassion for others around her, and a passionate love for the dramatic...

The Ludy Kid’s are Back with their 2nd Video Release!

I wrote the script for this particular video over two years ago. It was supposed to be a simple little production for my six kids. Hudson, at the time was ten with a high-pitched voice and Lily and Rees were little munchkins (age 3) still hardly able to speak clearly. It was going to be great and so cute that it could melt even the hardest, most formidable atheist’s heart. But, alas, it hasn’t been a “simple little production...

The Manifold Wonder

It’s strange, but there are certain days of the year that we as Christians often toss up our hands and say, “Yeah! That’s the Devil’s Day!” Halloween and Black Friday are great examples of such a defeated acceptance. So, on a day like this, most of us as Christians just accept that fact that the Truth of the Gospel takes second place to hedonistic shopping pleasure and unchecked covetousness . . . even in and amongst (ahem) Christians...

The Grand Re-Introduction

There are certain words in the Christian vocabulary that have been taken hostage by the Devil. The word Grace is one of the biggies. Some of the other notable hostages are LoveThe Holy Spirit, and Faith...

The Ludy Kiddos Release Their Very First Video

There is something powerful about the simple childlike faith of children. It is not encrusted with so much of the barnacles of modern-day nonsense floating around out there. Children hear the Truth, they believe it, and then they live it. It’s a much more simple way to do Christianity, if you ask me.

The Impossible Life

Leslie and I landed on the term “The Impossible Life” somewhere back in 2009. At that juncture I was celebrating two decades of radical pursuit of Jesus Christ, but was chagrined to freshly realize how impotent I still was in producing the Life of Christ in myself, by myself. After twenty years of hot pursuit of my King, I still was just as weak as when I started. I still couldn’t bring any power to the table. I still didn’t have anything of a heavenly deportment intrinsic to my nature. I still needed Him – desperately needed Him in order to live out this life...

Dying Well

As Christians there are a lot of things that we simply should be the best at in the whole entire world. For instance, the world should not be able to touch us when it comes to things like sheer happiness, joy, love, forgiveness, and peace...

Three Cheers for the Return of Bravehearted Thots

To understand the significance of this particular Bravehearted Thot video in my life, we need to travel back in time over seven years ago, to the very first Discipleship Training program offered on the Ellerslie campus. Fifty-five students signed up for our first semester of training, and it was an amazing start to something very special. The date was July 4th, 2010 and it was a Sunday. Leslie and I had invited all the students over to our house that night to watch the fireworks over Windsor Lake. But something went strangely awry that day. We had a downpour of rain. In fact, it rained harder that day than I had ever seen rain come down in my entire life...

It’s Begun! Ellerslie’s 1st Annual Christmas Kickstart! Don’t miss the deals!

The name is quite grand, isn’t it?

Ellerslie’s 1st Annual Christmas Kickstart.

We like to do things a bit epic around here. And so, if we are going to do a little fundraising for the ministry, we figure we might as well do it in such a way that's fun, powerful, and life-changing instead of same-ol’-same-ol’...

19 New Videos the Next 28 Days! Get Ready!

Many of you remember some of the early videos that came out of our ministry. Remember Depraved Indifference in November of 2010? Or how about The Gospel which made a huge splash when it debuted in April of 2011?

In addition to these film-styled videos, I’m hoping that some of you remember our simple-styled videos known as Bravehearted Thots. Do you remember A Call to Anguish? Or how about The Ancient War Cry? Over these past five years, our media team has continued to produce the audio backdrops for these powerful Thots, but we have been undecided as to our release method...

Eric Ludy Defies Odds - Breaks Record

You should all be impressed. I broke two long-held Ellerslie records this past Tuesday.

  1. We packed twenty-four people in the film studio all at once for a filming session. This shattered our old record of twelve.
  2. I looked more weak, skinny, and frail than I ever have before in front of a camera. I accomplished this amazing feat by sitting side-by-side with the 6-foot, 8-inch tall giant, Mike Hahn. His massive frame and bushy hair made me look like I was about 5’3” and ready to blow away with the next gust of wind. It was a gutsy maneuver on my part, don’t you think?...

Hudson Ludy’s Growth Spurt

When I married Eric Ludy I didn’t realize it at first, but I was marrying into some interesting genes. I guess Eric’s father, Winston, grew to be six foot tall by the fifth grade. That’s shockingly tall for an eleven-year-old.

Well, when our oldest son, Hudson, turned twelve this past December, he decided to take after Eric’s side of the family and grow crazy tall seemingly overnight...

Eric Ludy’s Romantic Week Away

This past week God was working in a deep and profound way in my life. Leslie and I enjoyed a getaway to sunny Southern California. For those of you who may not know, Leslie and I have six kiddos. But the unique thing about this getaway was that it was just two of us – me and Leslie. The kids were not with us. And it has been nearly thirteen years since Leslie and I got away for a week without kiddos around. So, it was a rare and precious experience.

However, where you might envision us to have enjoyed a week chock full of moonlit strolls along the beach, romantic dinners, and scenic picnics, it wasn’t quite that way. It was an amazing week, but it was amazing because it was a week full of prayer, wrestling with God, and tirelessly fighting for matters that God laid before us...

Eric and Leslie interview Lily and Rees

I love being a daddy. I’ve learned far more from being a daddy than probably any other life responsibility, multiplied by ten. For those of you who have never been a daddy, it’s not all coos, pinched cheeks, and butterfly kisses. There are a lot of moments in the grand daddy adventure that try the depths of the soul. However, that said, daddy-hood is a truly satisfying occupation. There is no amount of money, comfort, promise of fame, or position of power that could possibly get me to trade out my daddy-hood. In my six kiddos, I have wealth untold, pleasures immeasurable, and smiles that never run dry.

Eric and Philip Reminisce One Amazing Week!

We’ve had a lot of people intrigued to hear an update on how our very first week of our brand-new 100-day training went. After all, if the students (in this new model) are going to be coming to the Ellerslie campus for only one week instead of twelve weeks, that one week better be really good. And, it was. In fact, I think the description of “really good” falls a bit flat in its ability to describe it. It was deeply moving, profoundly impacting, and wholly life-altering. I think, even those of us that approached it with high expectations, were dumbfounded in what happened this past week and I think we are still laboring to find the appropriate superlatives with which to describe it....

Eric Ludy Interviews the Music Genius . . . Again

I know many of you really enjoyed last week’s video interview with Steve Rosen. And I know many of you are interested in knowing which “Steve face” turned out to be his wife’s “most-dreaded face to appear on her husband while he’s on camera.” I’m sorry to say that when Kara watched the video, to help us pin down the answer to this question, she laughed so hard that we were unable to discern the actual answer. However, we are quite certain that the “Steve face” appeared at least once in that interview. The question is, “Did you see it?” ...
